Youthful Miles Morales and a whole lot of the Spider family will be swinging into your local theater this Christmas, and Sony Animation has just dropped yet another brand-new teaser to hold us over until Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse finally arrives in cinemas. Not only is there some new footage of the web-slingers in action, but this preview will also reveal to us one of Miles’ unique abilities as well. Check it out below:
In Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a myriad of Spider-Men will come join each other and team up to fight evil across multiple dimensions. Joining Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and Peter Parker (Jake Johnson) are Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage), Spider-Ham (John Mulaney), and SP//dr (Kimiko Glenn).
The film’s producers previously showed us their excitement for Into the Spider-Verse, an animated film that has a far unique look than anything seen before onscreen.
“We are so excited about this movie, we’re so proud of it,” one of the movie’s screenwriters, Phil Lord, said during Sony’s CinemaCon panel earlier this year. “We’re thrilled to help bring the story of Miles Morales to the screen. His story is a sensation in the comics, we loved it there, and we were so inspired to try to find a way to tell his story visually that would be commensurate with that.”
“It’s his Brooklyn upbringing, it’s his culture,” producer Chris Miller also pointed out. “He’s half-Puerto Rican, half-African-American, he’s a product of a happy and alive family, he’s 13-years-old. All that tells the kind of hero he’s going to become, and we’re going to get to experience the Spider-Man legend through this new and exciting lens.”
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind “The Lego Movie” and “21 Jump Street,” bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.
Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse stars the voice talents of Shameik Moore, Brian Tyree Henry, Jake Johnson, Mahershala Ali, Hailee Steinfeld, Nicolas Cage, Kimiko Glenn, John Mulaney, and Liev Schreiber.
The film is scheduled to open on December 14, 2018.
