Perhaps they all turned to ashes when Thanos snapped his fingers? The writing has been on the wall for a few months now that Netflix is ending its relationship with Marvel Television after the streaming service cancelled Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil late last year.
Now it seems to be confirmed as the only two series left from Marvel TV,
The Punisher and Jessica Jones, have been scrapped by the streaming giant, this according to a report over at Deadline.
The Punisher‘s second season debuted a month ago today and it appears as though the already-completed third season of Jessica Jones will still appear on the streamer but this will be the final season.
“Marvel’s The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix,” Netflix told Deadline today. “Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, the terrific crew, and exceptional cast including star Jon Bernthal, delivered an acclaimed and compelling series for fans, and we are proud to showcase their work on Netflix for years to come,” Netflix added.
All of the Marvel Netflix series, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher are still available to stream on the service and will remain there for the foreseeable future. There is not yet a release date set for the final season of Jessica Jones.
